Trapped In A Cell

Posted on Updated on

I opened my eyes, yet it was as if they were still closed. I couldn’t see anything, so I just lay where I was, thinking, “where exactly am I?”. At first, I thought it was a dream, until I felt a sting on my left foot as if I had just been bitten by an insect. I quickly hit the spot with my left palm, and as I guessed, I felt something, propbably a mosquito on my palm. It then dawned on me that I really wasn’t dreaming- this was “real reality” (permit that phrase). If I were to be dreaming, the slap I landed on my left foot was enough to even raise the dead.

“Where on earth am I?”,I quipped, I hadn’t finished my sentence when suddenly, I saw a bright light, but before I could even act, it was gone. The light lasted for about two seconds, then I returned to my “dark world”. The light lasted long enough to make me see that I was in a room barred by gates of steel- a cell probably. I said to myself, “What am I doing in a cell?”, then the light shone again, this time, for about four seconds, and it was confirmed that I actually am in a cell.

After this, I just sat down lamenting and crying about my predicament, I cannot even remember how I landed in a cell- a very dark cell. I continued to wail, for a very long time, whether it was an hour, a day, a week, a month, a year, or many years, I cannot tell, and my saving light shone not all these time. It was so bad, I couldn’t differentiate between when I was sleeping, and when I was awake.

Suddenly I asked myself “A cell should have people watching over it”. Immediately, the light shone again, with a glimmer of hope, I quickly ran to the gate shouting “Is anyone here, somebody help me!”. Surprisingly, the light stay all through these time, I shouted, cried, and yelled, but got no answer. Then I went back to my melancholic activity, and -you guessed right- the light went out.

After “melancholising” for some time, I finally mustered courage and standing up, I said to myself, “I must find a way to get the hell out of this place”, and my saving light came up again. I ran quickly to the gate to try to force it open, surprisingly, the gate flung open after the first push. I was both amazed and disappointed, amazed because I realized that the gate was not locked at all, and disappointed because I would have push it open the first time I knew there was a gate. I quickly put all that behind me, and ran towards the light like the sun rays runs to the earth. I was free, and I am still free.

Questions, are the pathways to discoveries.
Questions, start the process of answers/solutions
Questions, start a new season……………and ACTIONS take you to the destination.

Faith that Works- PART II

Posted on Updated on

AMP:So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).

Romans 10vs17

Today, we continue from where stopped last week, and we will look at a very critical aspect of the faith homily.

The Faith that will work is the faith that comes by hearing, and not just once, but continually and continuously. You have to come to the point where you begin to hear whatsoever you read from the scriptures, and keep hearing it so that your faith keeps working and working even unto the end. You speak encouragement to yourself and ensure you hear it, you hear again that faith boosting sermon or words from a friend/pastor, and just keep on hearing it until you possess what you desire.

Everyday of your life you keep hearing God speaking to you, the promises from His Word- The Bible, you allow those words grow and keep growing by hearing and hearing. You wake up in the morning, and you hear “You are the apple of my eyes”, “With God all things are possible”, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”, “I am more than a conqueror”. You hear them everyday, and your belief system and action potential for success and greatness is boosted.

Keep on hearing, Keep on keeping on. You must succeed, You must be Great!!

Faith and Works

Posted on Updated on

AMP:So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).

James 2:17

There’s something I want you to see (if you haven’t seen it before) in that scripture. It says that faith without works is dead, which then means that without works, faith does not exist, that work is the life and power of faith.

When action is not added to belief, there you have a faithless situation. You cannot conceive, believe, and achieve if you do not “work-ieve”!! So, it is not enough to believe, you must DO something. No matter the strength of your belief, without action, nothing happens.

That action may be possession of virtues such as committment, discipline, love, patience, diligence, obedience, but there must be something or somethings you have to do, that connects you to your beliefs or desired future!

There is always something, or somethings that you have to do to deliver the results you believed for; the children of Israel, led by Moses, had to move close to the formidable Red Sea, to show there obedience to God, and readiness to cross over it, and Moses had to stretch his rod, still in obeisance to God, before this great sea quickly constructed a highway for God’s people- by God’s arrangent

Happy Day to you!

Misplaced Priorities; The Cause of Loss

People can, often times, get carried away with activities, ushering them into neglect for what really is needful and important. Truth is, we cannot perform all of the activities in out to-do list at once, hence, the need for proper delegation of time for our various activities.

I want to share some thoughts with you, hope you gain from them:

* You arrange activities in a scale of importance, not preference, because what you prefer may differ from what is important qnd relevant in a given period.

* Activities that their exiry dates/times is as close as your mouth is to your nose should be done first and quickly. Infact, you should not allow it to be that close, try to get the things done when their expiry dates/times are at “arm’s length”. If you fail to do this, itay cost you; just like missing an examination because you spent the night preparing for the examination, and then slept off when you were supposed to go for the examination, or missing your flight, or worse, not getting the ingredients to cook dinner ready, and it’s time for dinner.

* Activities that involve human life and death should be treated with utmost importance.

* Activities that build you, the people around you (society), and your nation up, should be done continually and continuously- EVERYDAY!

* What you can do at a later date/time should be put at a later date/time when you have something with as much importance/relevance to do. This is not to condone or support procastination, but it is to enhance better quality use of time.

If you do not prioritise your activities properly, you MUST lose, at least, your time, confidence on yourself, trustworthiness, and reliability. Go and Do what you ought to do!

Remove Fear, Make It Happen!!!

Posted on Updated on

Hey there! How are you doing? Thanks for visiting today!

One truth I have found out is that, everyone wants to be great and successful. We all want to be celebrated, we want to be recognized, respected, and honoured in our society and the world at large. But few of the “everyone” actually get this DONE. Only a minority of the “everyone” accomplish all these.

What then is the hindrance? What is the reason why only few out of the many achieve these feats? What is the problem?

Fear is the hindrance. Most people are afraid of not being able to achieve it, some think they cannot achieve it, while some others are afraid of even achieving it. The last group are those who have the fear of success- they are afraid of maintaining success; they think they may not be able to continue to be successful. For this group, they better not go up, than to go up and come down again. My position then is, what makes them think that if they go up, they will come down. Do your best to be successful, truth is, what will come will come, and what will happen will happen. Hence, your actions (that you control) should be channeled towards being successful. We should be cautious and wise in our decision-making and action-taking.

Do not allow the fear of what will happen, make nothing happen. This fear can make you inactive, and at the end of the day, nothing happens. What if the reason for your fear never ever appears? Remove that “feeling” that something bad will, or wants to happen, and focus on accomplishing your goals. Take those steps, see that individual, walk into that office, write that song, write that book, go for that audition, start that business, create that group, just DO something that takes the ball out of your court!! Be cautious and wise in your actions and decisions.

Use Your Brain, THINK!!!

Hey there! How is the weekend going? Or better still, how did your weekend go? I’m pleased to have you read my post today. Hope you gain from it.

NIV: He went out to the field one evening to meditate, and as he looked up, he saw camels approaching.
Genesis 24vs63

Look at the first part of that scripture; it was referring to Isaac, the son of Jacob (whose name was changed to Isreal, the father of the present day Isreal in Asia). It said that Isaac went to the field to meditate. It meant that it was a deliberate attempt. He was not just relaxing in the field, then he began to meditate, neither was he working in the field, then he decided to relax, and from relaxing, he began to meditate. He planned it all out; that he was going to the field for meditation!!

It is God’s purpose that we use our brains, and THINK! Hey, I’m not talking about worrying here, I’m talking about putting your mind to work in proferring solutions to problems, and deciding action(s) to take concerning a particular thing. You do not think about a situation you cannot change, one that has imprinted itself on your past booklet.

If you SEARCH for the solution of a problem, you will FIND it! It’s just that many people, spend most of their time, wondering how they got into the problem, and lamenting about their predicament. Listen, LOOK for the way out! There is always a way out, and you find it when you open up your mind to seeking for solutions and best actions to take.

God said, “…..let us reason together”, He also said “…..think on these things”. He wants us to use our brains!! You have a brain, use it! In (positive) thinking, you gain knowledge and insight on issues concerning you and what you put your mind to. If you want to succeed in any endeavour, you have to put your mind to work, ask questions, reason out other’s opinions, weigh the pros and cons, decide carefully what you want to do, and just do it!!

Make (positive) thinking part of your daily routine, and watch your life tranform for the better!! Thank you for reading.

2 Thoughts on Time

Posted on Updated on

Good day friends. Trust your day is going great? I hope so. Mine is going great by the way.

Let’s begin with this quote from Zig Ziglar: “Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have 24-hour days”. I jokingly (but seriously) tell my friends that if in one way or another, the duration of a day increases from 24hours to 30hours, many people will still complain of having no time for all their activities.

Against this backdrop, I’ll share two thoughts that look conflicting but are definitely coherent.

The first thought is that there is time for everything. You have more than enough time to do all you want to do, but there are two challenges to this your possession; the first is that, you don’t control the time, and the second is that, all activities have expiry dates. Hence one has to start doing what she is SUPPOSED to do NOW, because “now” is the only time you have and can control. You have more than 999trillion years ahead of you to do whatever you want, but the problem is that you will not be alive till then, and even if you end up being alive, that activity will be old-fashioned, probably extinct, and archaic. All you have is NOW!!

The second thought is that there is no time for anything. What this means is that there is time for everything, but no time for anything, except you choose a time for it. There is no time for any PARTICULAR activity, you just have to FIX a time for it, knowing fully that you do not control time. So, how is this done? You do the “very most important” (don’t mind the English) things, whose expiry date is as close to now as your nose is to your mouth, first, and put the rest of the activities at other times, with the HOPE that something unexpected doesn’t stop it from happening- THIS IS PROPER PLANNING!!!

This is all I’m saying in essence: You have now to do what you need to do, and do it moderately, not at the expense of your health, and/or your loved ones (family).

Hope I’ve helped you? Share your comments or questions, they are appreciated.
